Yes, you can learn to sail in a keel (versus lightweight centerboard) sailboat called a sloop (main sail + jib) in one of the most exciting sailing meccas in the world (due to regular hurricanes and spectacular views). The 1-ton keel on our Triton (class of boat) means we don't worry about capsizing, but that doesn't mean you won't get wet.Advanced students can learn (and crew) on actual races where we fly spinnakers (colorful sails for going downwind), a process of six people working in synchronized harmony -- or else you can witness tangled disasters!
